CLEVELAND - Cleveland hearth officials are sounding the alarm after three incidents this week - two of which have been fatal - were brought on by portable heaters. On Tuesday, hearth investigators mentioned an area heater plugged into an extension cord brought about a fireplace that left a one-month-old woman and a 1-year-previous boy dead. Lt. Mike Norman mentioned it appeared that the house had "a number of extension cords with heat-producing appliances" like space heaters plugged into them. However, Lt. Norman mentioned it was tough to say whether or not the area alpha heater discount was too near combustibles. Two days later, officials said a 72-12 months-previous man died after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning inside his dwelling on the east aspect. Three others had been hospitalized. Officials traced the carbon monoxide to a propane heater that was not properly vented. Then, on Friday morning, a fireplace at a home in the 4000 block of East 56th Street broke out. Luckily, all five occupants have been able to exit the home safely.
